Life is the
Portal of Perfection
|
Blessed children of the Divine!
You are here for the attainment of the Divine
Perfection. This is your birthright. For, your life verily derives from the
eternal, all-perfect, infinite, Divine Life. Thou art an heir to infinite
Beauty, eternal Bliss and indescribable Peace. This splendour is your real
nature. This is the true Self within. Thou art Divine.
What is life? To evolve and to manifest the spiritual
Principle within you, and to seek and obtain the vision and the Experience of
the Divinity concealed behind visible names and forms is life. To live is to
worship the ever-present God, to behold the external world as God. All this
here is sacred. For the Divine Presence sanctifies all places and all objects.
Whatever thou doest, thou doest unto the lord.
Therefore spiritualise your life. This life is the
portal to Perfection. Let all your life be pervaded by a spiritual bhava.
Fill everything – every little thought and sentiment, every single word and
deed – with an attitude of intense reverence, devotion and worshipfulness. Live
in the awareness of the immanence of the Divine. To live here is to have your
being in God. For, God is here and now. Feel this truth. Affirm it, this is the
key to blessedness.
Bow down in adoration unto Him before you start the
day. Fill your day with the spirit of worshipfulness. See God in all names and
forms. Be courteous and polite, kind and generous, merciful and compassionate.
Forgive and forget. Do Good unto all. Live to serve others. Root out ego and
selfishness. Become a servant of humanity, a messenger of peace and unity. Live
and act for the welfare and happiness of all. Control anger. Control hatred by
love. Never deceive, harm or hurt others. Strive to be sadachari and paropakari.
Knowing that the living presence of God indwells all beings.
Attain Perfection and Liberation in this very life and
become blessed forever. Life is transitory. Time is fleeting. Every moment is
precious. Therefore, do not tarry or delay. Waste not time. Be up and doing.
Claim thy birthright. Shine with virtue. Be radiant with divinity. Move towards
Perfection. May God confer upon you Peace, Bliss and illumination! All success
to thee upon the onward journey to Perfection!

The True Purpose of Life
Glorious Immortal Self! There
is a permanent Reality behind this entire universe. That great reality is of
the nature of Bliss and blessedness. It is a state of untrammeled (not confined
or limited) freedom, limitless peace,
boundless wisdom and indescribable Bliss. And that Bliss, freedom, peace, wisdom
and joy is your essential and eternal state. That is your real abode. That is
your ultimate journey. This life has been given to you in order to realize that
Reality. It is this achievement and achievement alone, which is the central
purpose of your life.
Indian philosophy declares in
bold and unmistakable terms that the great aim of human life is to attain
supreme Bliss. It asserts: “All beings in this universe have come forth from
Bliss, in Bliss they are sustained, and they are destined to attain that
Bliss.” It is this perennial Bliss, which indeed is the great and ultimate
Truth and Reality. The great ones who have realized through their intense inner
effort the nature of the ultimate Reality, have stated in clear and
unmistakable terms: “O mortals, you cannot find unalloyed perfect Happiness and
Bliss in this imperfect and limited phenomenal universe. The ultimate state of
joy and Bliss can be had only within your own Self, which has its source in the
permanent and eternal Reality. All Bliss lie within you. You are yourself that
Bliss.” This is your nature. The rediscovery of that living awareness of
Bliss is the great purpose of your life. This is the goal of life for which we
have taken birth on this earth-plane.
Life is not a haphazard flight
from one object to another. Life is a quest full of significance and meaning.
Therefore the sooner the eyes are opened to the great meaning of life, the
greater the degree of perfection that will be attained. Otherwise, life would
be like setting upon a journey without direction, or like getting onto a
highway without the knowledge of the destination or route. Life is very
precious. Say: “I have come here to realize the supreme state of blessedness
and to experience the highest Bliss. I have been given this unique opportunity
of a human birth in order to attain the ultimate goal.” The chance is now given
to you. Who knows if the keen state of aspiration and devotion to the ideal
will continue? Therefore, now is the time to make a supreme effort to realize
the true purpose of life. Now is the time to make an earnest effort to attain
the highest blessedness and the wondrous bliss of Realization
.

The Conscious Can
Triumph Over The Inert
Radiant Divinities! The conscious and the inert
exist side by side in the creation of God. You constitute the conscious
entity. The universe outside you constitutes the inert factor. A conscious
being like you, from the moment of birth begin to perceive things, to react
to them. Then as you grow you interact with them, and later you begin to act
upon them. Further on, you investigate them, analyse them. You probe and
wrest the secret of everything. The conscious ever advances, ever evolves,
ever improves and masters everything. The inert continues to exist as it is.
The conscious is the powerful factor; the inert is powerless. Tobacco is
inert thing; it does nothing. If you leave it, it will wither away by itself.
We began to relate ourselves to it in a slavish way. Then it becomes to us a
bondage, a menace. They can do nothing by themselves. Therefore from
pragmatic and rational point of view, it is meaningless to say that the
universe is bondage, that we caught in samsara and suffer helplessly. Samsara
has no power to bind as it is jada, inert. It is you who cling to
it. Bondage arises from you, not from Samsara. And you have the power
to perceive: “What binds me? What liberates me? What is inimical to me and
what is beneficial to me?”
The way in which consciousness is applied and used
throughout Prakriti (Nature) determines what the universe does to you
or what you can do to the universe. You can triumph over everything
around you. If there is knowledge at the basis, then everything you do, you
do rightly; and the universe around you becomes a help to your evolution. If
the basis is ignorance, then you create bondage. The universe is meant to be
a help for your evolution and a liberating factor; it is you who convert it
into a hindrance, a bondage. The degree of ignorance, the degree of folly
with which we relate ourselves to the things determines the degree of harm
they can do to us.
Ponder this truth again and again. Know that bondage
arises from our folly of utilizing our God-given facilities in a wrong
manner. If we do not use our human potential and our faculties wisely, they
can all become problems to us. This is the crux of human problem, of jivatama’s
plight. Think about it day after day, all your life. In that lies your
arising from unrealities to Reality, from darkness to Light. Become your own
liberator now and here.
